About this Podcast:
On this season opener of the Deeper Riches podcast, we discuss why words matter, especially when we are talking about the things of God. We talk definitions and connotations; the vulgarization of holy language; and how to slow down and savor the Scriptures by rightly handling the words.
This episode is focused on WORDS. We discuss:
- The dangers of reading the Scriptures without an appropriate view of WORDS.
- If we say that pizza is “awesome,” can we also say that God is “awesome”?
- The difference between DEFINITIONS and CONNOTATIONS
- Do you have to be super smart to understand the Bible?
- How does the changing meaning of words impact our understanding of Scripture?
- Do I have to know Greek to use a Greek dictionary?
- Is it ok to ask, “What does this verse mean to ME?”
